November 11, 2013: News from Cole after the Typhoon

Just want to let you know that i am all safe and everything!  The storm was way South of us so the worst thing we got was like an hour of rain and some wind.  Its horrible what happend to the people down south though.  There were 100 missionaries unaccounted for but they are all safe now :) They just wanted us to let you know!

Love you so much!
Elder Gordon

My email to him before his P-day on Friday the 14th.  We still had not heard much from them so I had lot's of questions.

Thank you so much for your message on Monday/Tuesday.  I can't tell you how many people have emailed me or sent me a text to check to see if you are okay.  I knew you were so I let them know each time I received a message, but asked everyone to pray for those her were not.  We honestly have the most thoughtful friends and I am so very thankful for all of them.  How are you?  I heard that they sent the missionaries that were in Tacloban (sp?) back to the MTC in Manila to send them out to other missions within the Philippines.  I am sure you have heard your share of stories as well.  You will have to share them with us bit by bit as you send letters.  The small islands were hit the worst and the pictures just are tragic.  Islands in the Southern part that are covered half way with water.  They say it raised the sea level by 200 feet or something like that.  I am sure I don't have that right, but I know it was ALOT any way.  Have you had any missionaries that are local that were affected by the storm?
